"This apartment was in the absolute best location in Avignon. The kitchen was well-equipped, and we cooked in it a lot. The internet was great. Our hosts were very responsive and patient, as I had multiple questions about the European appliances. Erland kindly carried our heavy suitcases up the spiral staircase. I asked for extra blankets, and Erland delivered a lovely one very quickly. The dishwasher, washer and dryer worked well. There is an excellent heating system, which we really needed. Outside the door are two open windows to the central courtyard, and March 2025 was very chilly. The location was the star of the stay. Les Halles, le Palais des Papes, grocery stores, shops, free shuttle pick up, were just outside the door."

"The bedroom area was dusty. The duvet did not smell fresh, nor did the pillows. Maybe they were put on the bed damp? The matress was uneven. I suppose getting it in that tiny, loft room was a difficult job. There are lots of windows, but with a courtyard view. Daylight came from a skylight in the living room. The stairs were a shock. Spiralling up without end it seemed at first, dusty, and the quality declined after the ground floor. But we did get used to them - hold the handrail, no rushing, let the dizzy feeling pass at the bottom. The bedroom "steps" were a different story. There was a ladder type of access going upstairs from the kitchen, which required holding two different handles to use safely. Nightime bathroom visits required dexterity and attention, and sleeping after was difficult for me. I am 5'10 and could not stand up straight in the low ceiling space. It sloped down even lower across the room. Husband would not try it, and slept on the sofa in the living room. The listing states we need to go up stairs to access the bedroom, and there is a photo. My North American perspective could not imagine nor absorb this configuration. A very good sofa bed would have been ideal. If there had been a fire, I don't know how we could have safely escaped. The evacuation plan is posted - it clearly shows the front door is the only way out."

"A well equiped lovely apartment right in the centre of town but away from the noise. Helpful and charming hosts who went out of their way to make my stay enjoyable. They were very responsive to queries and resolved a couple of problems I had professionally and swiftly."
